OSMT / CSMLS Prep. [Lab Tech.]

Introduction	This Preparatory program is designed to assist students and graduates in preparation for OSMT or CSMLS certification exams. If you are: Current or refresher graduates of MLA/T (Medical Laboratory Assistant/ Technician) or MGLA (Medical and General Laboratory Assistant), Canadian trained or Canadian workers. Foreign trained MLA/T’s or International Students/ New Immigrants or those who want to apply under special consideration with proof of registration and academic credential assessment (Ref: http://www.osmt.org/content/index.php?pid=7&cid=53) for the OSMT certification exam Then this refresher course will help you to move forward.
Method	The course involves in-class teaching and Conversation to help you understand the required knowledge as per Canadian needs including Phlebotomy session to fulfill 20 minimum requirements of OSMT exam. The course contents to review includes: Cytology and Histology; Anatomy & Physiology; Basic Biology; Clinical Chemistry; Clinical Hematology; Clinical Microbiology & Infection Control; Immunohematology; Laboratory Equipment & Glassware; Laboratory Mathematics; Laboratory Safety; Medical Terminology; LIS: Processing & Data Collection; Professionalism & Healthcare Ethics; Specimen Procurement; Standards of Practice, Statistics & Quality Assurance; Canadian Healthcare Laws and Regulations with reference to Medical Laboratories
Duration	09 comprehensive sessions of total 40 clock hours
Schedule	Every Saturday Starting September 2nd, 2017
Fee	$650 + HST
Next batch	January 2018 as Next OSMT/CSMLS exams will be in March 2018
